Description: Berryhill is a residential and commercial development set over 480 acres which holds major infrastructure in agreement with highways England. The scheme will hold 1,700 new homes, a village centre, hotels, a school and a GP surgery. ELLUC are responsible for the infrastructure designs for the consortium development which was marketed for parcel sales at national housebuilders level. ELLUC we’re also instructed on behalf of multiple PLC’s which purchased parcels to complete the plot-specific designs.
We were the Civil Engineering consultant responsible for the main infrastructure including S38/S104 and S278 designs for this project. This involved working with 3 significant stakeholders, the landowners. The main landowner, the local authority, carried a significant approval process for any fundamental changes. By Liaising with all stakeholders to understand the flexibility for design changes, this allowed us to save circa £1.2 million from the infrastructure construction costs.
